MACQUERIPE BAY
Macqueripe Bay, nestled in the northwestern peninsula of Trinidad within Chaguaramas, is a secluded cove renowned for its deep, calm waters and lush rainforest surroundings. The bay’s naturally deep waters, with a steep drop-off close to shore, make it ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving. Historically, its depth made it suitable as a U.S. submarine station during World War II. Today, visitors can access the beach via a stepped-concrete walkway from the car park, passing through well-maintained gardens. While the beach is narrow with limited sunbathing space due to the forested hillsides, it offers amenities such as public toilets, changing rooms, and benches. Adventure seekers can also enjoy a 7-course zip line adventure through the rainforest, offering splendid views of the Caribbean Sea. Macqueripe Bay is approximately 34 kilometres from Traum House Lodge.
