CAURA RIVER
Caura River, also known as the Tacarigua River, is a cherished natural retreat located in the Northern Range of Trinidad, flowing through the Caura Valley before joining the Caroni River. Renowned for its clear, cool waters and lush bamboo-lined banks, it has long been a favorite spot for locals seeking a tranquil escape from urban life. The river is especially popular for “river limes,” where families and friends gather to cook, relax, and enjoy the serene environment. Notably, Caura River Pool 1 is a well-known area for such gatherings, offering easy access and picturesque surroundings. While the area provides a peaceful setting, visitors are advised to remain vigilant, as there have been reports of thefts and other security concerns in the past. As always, it’s important to respect the natural environment by cleaning up after oneself and preserving the beauty of this beloved locale. Caura River is approximately 13 kilometres from Traum House Lodge.
