CAURA RIVER

Caura River, also known as the Tacarigua River, is a cherished natural retreat located in the Northern Range of Trinidad, flowing through the Caura Valley before joining the Caroni River. Renowned for its clear, cool waters and lush bamboo-lined banks, it has long been a favorite spot for locals seeking a tranquil escape from urban life. The river is especially popular for “river limes,” where families and friends gather to cook, relax, and enjoy the serene environment. Notably, Caura River Pool 1 is a well-known area for such gatherings, offering easy access and picturesque surroundings. While the area provides a peaceful setting, visitors are advised to remain vigilant, as there have been reports of thefts and other security concerns in the past.
